Interpreting a society by looking through the lense of the uncanny is one way to unveil the inner workings of a place. Irregularities often reveal a deeper analysis of socio-historical patterns in a culture rather than a straightforward analysis of dates and events.

“…not figments of a madman’s imagination…” is an invitation to peer into Romania’s culture by exploring its version of the uncanny.
The exhibition is curated by Lara Taubman and features works by Dan Acostioaei, Anca Benera, Ciprian Mureşan, Gabriela Vanga, Mona Vatamanu and Florin Tudor. The artists will take part in the exhibition opening.

<<Rewind<< at the Florence Lynch Gallery was created exclusively for video and film, providing a platform for challenging new works which push the boundaries of cinema and art. <<Rewind<< has become a destination venue for video collectors and museum video collections in the US and abroad. The exhibition is presented in collaboration with RCINY.
