'12:08 East of Bucharest', Corneliu Porumboiu's feature debut, was one of the most-awarded Romanian film in 2006 festivals around the world. The film, presented in many American festivals as well, is currently nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for the Best Foreign Film. Corneliu will attend the Awards Gala in Santa Monica, CA on February 24 (to be broadcast live on the IFC Channel).
Before the film's screening at the Tribeca Film Festival this April-May and the film's theatrical release in the US in June, the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York invites you to an encounter with film director Corneliu Porumboiu and a presentation of his previous work. Hosted by the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York on February 27 at 7 pm, it will also include a presentation of his short feature "Liviu's Dream" (2004, 39').
