Monday Theatre - Green Hours |
The New York REENACTMENT of Monday Theatre @ Green Hours (Bucharest)
As part of its NEW DRAMA Support Program, the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York is happy to present to the New York public a major example of Romanian independent theatre, along with one of its young voices with an international recognition: playwright Peca Stefan. The four performances of his plays attempt to recreate the profile of MONDAY Theatre. Born in Bucharest in September 1994, Green Hours is one of the first jazz clubs in post-communist Romania and arguably the most respected independent theatre in the country. It presents jazz, blues, electric and alternative music nights alongside theatrical productions, most of which are done in the Off-Off Broadway style.
In cooperation with the LARK Play Development Center in the framework of the American Romanian Theater Exchange Program (ARTE). With the support of the Young Theatre METROPOLIS & ArCub, Bucharest – Romania and Telephone Bar & Grill, New York.
The full calendar and program insights on the events of the Romanian Cultural Institute in November-December 2006 is now online and can be dowloaded in pdf format. The brochure is also available in hardcopy at RCINY.
