4th Romanian Film Festival of Chicago
July 6-8, 2012

ROCX invites you to the 4th Romanian Film Festival of Chicago July 6-8 at the wonderful Dank Haus in Lincoln Square. This event has become a highly anticipated tradition, as a contribution to our already diverse city.

Romanian film makers have truly made their mark on the world of cinema, bringing fresh talent and perspectives, while creating new impressions of Romania and its culture. Cristian Mungiu, director of “Tales from the Golden Age”, has swept up audiences once again at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival with his new film “Beyond the Hills”. This renaissance of Romanian film in the recent years is just as much about creating a new image of what is possible in Romania, as it is a showcase of true talent and genius.

Come join the Romanian community and foreign film enthusiasts in discovering the cinematic phenomenon that is collecting awards at festivals all over the world.

Highlights include:

Chicago Premiere of Tales from the Golden Age (“Amintiri din Epoca de Aur”) directed by Cristian Mungiu, Official Selection at Cannes for “Un Certain Regard

Morgen, directed by Marian Crisan designated best movie of 2011 by the Transylvania International Film Festival
Aurora directed by Cristi Puiu, renowned director of “The Death of Mr. Lazarescu”
