The Color of Hay: The Peasants of Maramures, published in Hong Kong, will arrive to the US around March 14. At the turn of the millennium, for a year of days beginning in the autumn of 1999, Kathleen and Henry lived in a remote village, in the Maramures region of northern Transylvania, Romania. This region is unique amongst the former Soviet Bloc for the way it has preserved its way of life.

October 26th, 2010 marks the international release of the highly anticipated Naxos album of Matei Varga, with piano music by Romanian composer, George Enescu. The CD includes the Sonata for Piano in F sharp minor, Op. 24 No. 1, for which Matei Varga was awarded the Special Prize for the best performance of Enescu's piano music at the "George Enescu" Piano Competition in Bucharest. Together with this work, the CD features the Suite No. 2 in D major, Op. 10 and excerpts from the Suite No. 3, Op. 18, "Pieces impromptues".

New York-based Marina Draghici signs the stage and costume design of "Fela!", the Broadway musical by Bill T. Jones, featuring the story of the Afrobeat star Fela Kuti.

We are pleased to announce Stefano Ionescu's Lecture Tour to Canada and US. The talks will include topics about Ottoman Rugs in the Protestant Churches of Transylvania, Late Turkish rugs and their relation to the ‘Transylvanian’ group, Tuduc fakes in European and American collections, and Scoartze: Romanian folk kilims.

Altaïr will perform on Thursday, October the 27^th at 7:30 pm at Weill Hall at Carnegie Hall a concert entitled From German Romanticism to Transylvanian Legends. The program includes works by Brediceanu, Jora, Schubert, Spohr, Weber and the world premiere of Strigoiacaria (The Lady Vampires) by Swiss composer Thierry Besançon.
