The Word Progress on My Mother’s Lips Doesn’t Ring True@The Trap Door Theatre - Extended Run Guest Hungarian/Romanian director István K. Szabó captures the signature comic/tragic surrealism of Matei Visniec’s "the word progress on my mother’s lips doesn’t ring true". Winner of the “Best Play in the Off-section” at the Avignon Festival in 2009″ this American Premiere delves into the pits of refugee psyche, a metaphysical space where one continuously runs from a place with nothing left, to a place with nothing to offer. Now extended through January 21!

10 years after...with Saviana Stănescu "I celebrate 10 years of a very special love-affair: New York and me. (Well, I can’t guarantee for the city’s feelings, just for mine) Late August 2001. Arriving here for the first time. A suitcase, a Fulbright grant and, of course, a personal version of the American Dream spiced up with hope and renewed idealism. High spirits. Clear Sky. NYU. Peace. And then… 9/11."
