| About this Website ICRNY.org is designed by Intersection
and maintained by the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York. English editing:

We keep you posted with the events we're organizing,
most of them in
partnership with American
cultural institutions, be they established or emergent, that you may want
to discover through
Romanian artists.
You can also find here an important cultural archive about recent Romania,
organized into dossiers which make you familiar
with the effervescence of a remote European country rapidly growing from a
communist No Man's Land into an interesting player in today's world. You may
wonder about the renaissance in Romanian cinematography; you may want to know
which Romanian authors have been translated into English; or you may simply
be curious to find out if the Transylvania of your imagination has a correspondent
in real life. The dossier section can provide some insight about all these
issues.
If you are a frequent visitor of our website, you will notice that the illustrations
keep changing. Indeed, the site hosts mini-exhibitions presenting works by
emerging Romanian artists. Every webxhibition (as we call them) is composed
of about fifteen individual pieces of illustrative work. Together they tell a story.
In order to read it properly, every time we change the series we host them
in
our virtual gallery. We can also provide contact information about the
artists - they would most certainly love to hear from you.
Your questions and suggestions are valuable to us, so send them to icrny@icrny.org
and we'll start talking.
